This course is designed for individuals who are working at Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) with microorganisms (pathogenic viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites), human blood, cell lines, or other potentially infectious human materials. The course will introduce key concepts in biological safety, biological exposure emergency response and prevention strategies against laboratory-acquired infectious diseases.

From 3:00 to 4:30, basic Biosafety and Bloodborne Pathogens training will be offered followed by more lab specific training including training on viral vectors (Lentivirus, AAV, etc.) and biological toxins. Not all students will need the full complement of training. Regardless of number of modules, the session starts at 3:00 PM for all students.
